Returning to a country I thought I knew, and discovering I must learn to see it again.
In this 20-minute poetic documentary film, I return to a country I believe I know, only to realize I must relearn how to place it. I explore what happens when memories collide with the present; when a country that has always existed in my mind becomes a physical place again. It is a personal search for identity, belonging, and self-image, told from my own perspective, without pretending to offer definitive answers.
Mher Brutyan is an actor and poet with a background in mime. His first book, Very Serious Poetry, focused on small moments and honest thoughts. His new collection, Unnecessary Notes and Poor Self-Reflection, continues that approach with direct, everyday language and a clear queer voice.
