Yalla Tnam

February 5th 21:40-22:05 February 5th 22:25-22:50 FRAS 2

A ritual performance weaving song, movement, and myth into a tender ceremony of grief, protest, and survival.

Yalla Tnam is a ritual performance—an echo of grief, protest, and survival. This multidisciplinary work combines song, loop machine, movement, and installation, inviting the audience to become witnesses to an eulogy for the future.

Intertwining Fairuz’s Yalla Tnam with Syrian grief rituals from the Syrian Revolution, Mallah’s singing becomes a hypnotic expression of care and pain as Lillich // Krüger moves through a series of symbolically charged gestures. Aesthetically mythological and emotionally direct, the performance examines our differing but intertwined heritages, the diversity of our migration experiences, and the complexities of our relationship to our new home, the Netherlands.

Ahmad Mallah & Rebecca Lillich // Krüger are an Amsterdam-based performance duo working with symbolic objects to explore conflict, risk, and intimacy. Through multidisciplinary performances, they open personal–political symbols to evoke reflection and connection. Their works The Ladder and The Price of Bricks have been shown across festivals, museums, and institutions in Europe.
