Ghaith Kween Qountainy
February 6th 21:30-21:55 FRAS 1
Kween develops a new work that weaves together collected media material about their home/identity with the idea of home itself—home as an embodied experience shaped by the intertwining of the socio-cultural perceptions of that place and the inner friction of (dis)identifying with the concealed desire for what home ought to be. This performance opens a space where the clash of belonging and not belonging—at times joyful, at others despaired—is dramaturgically amplified.
Ghaith Kween Qoutainy, a.k.a. Kween is a composer, performer, sound artist, and cultural curator whose practice moves across the edges and intersections of multiple media. Their work focuses on the (re)making of felt yet non-tangible spaces—affective, historical, and sonifeid—that govern orientations in space and through time.
