bewijs maar eens dat we een rots waren

February 5th 19:00-19:30 FRAS 1

(Spoken in Dutch)

In our daily lives, we are constantly carried along by currents—some more visible and tangible than others. You can see it in nature, the news, your friends, or the tracks of a tramline. With this performance, we aim to explore, from the perspective of a hopeless generation, what happens when you swim against the current.

Daniëlle Zawadi (1999) writes prose and performs spoken word, offering a glimpse into her Gen Z perspective as a second-generation Dutch individual with Congolese roots. She also works as a literary programmer for organizations such as Poetry International and Crossing Border. Together with Belgian jazz drummer Kobe Gregoir and Laura Kampman, who creates sound collages, she surrounds her poetic performances with music and soundscapes that resemble music. The visual aspect of the performance is crafted by Amsterdam-based fashion and set designer Elsemarijn Hijweege.
