Her creative work since the beginning has merged the worlds of theatre and the visual arts. After her graduation she continued making installations and performances on international art- and theater festivals. She initiated projects and invited artists from different disciplines. Arlette felt in love with Asia and moved to Cambodia to work with orphans and homeless children making object theatre on location. Her care was to plan theatrical projects for youngsters grown up in a traumatized land. In 2007 she worked in cooperation with the theatre group Fat Bird on the first edition of the Architecture Biennale in Shenzhen, China. There she made huge kinetic installations of bamboo. In 2012 she visited Yerevan,Armenia, and made the Ark from Noah from second hand books during the Yerevan World Bookcapital.

Boas is co-founder / co-director of the performance program PAE(Performance art event) and part of the performance ensemble TRICKSTER (with Ieke Trinks, Nathalie Smoor, Marielle verdijk, Barbara Ellison) .
