Thinking with water is a research into water as a changeable element. Within Chinese philosophy, water is one of the main elements for thinking about who we are and how we relate to our world. To be flexible, adaptable, powerful, nourishing, is to be like water. Water is one of the most important elements for life. Yet it is also a serious threat in either its excess or shortage. Within this installation Tamar attempts a conversation between various shapes and qualities of water giving the spectator an impossible view of one of the ways water tends to come to us these days.

Tamar Blom uses space, sound and material to create performance installations that move and open up new spaces in your imagination. By exploring the multi-layeredness of specific elements his work offers a sp(ec/at)ial experience and leaves plenty of room for personal interpretation. Although Tamar's performances contain a freedom, they exert a clear conceptual direction. Tamar continues to surprise and show how material can transform space, how something abstract can touch deep emotions and how poetry can be hidden in simplicity. His work is developed within the creative atmosphere of Platform Nexus. An artist space shared with several other creators at Het Domijn in Weesp.
